Here, There and Everywhere!

Hi everyone!

We’ve been on a crusade for ASID and we have not communicated in a bit! This year is my ASID presidency, so I’ve been very concentrated on making our Chapter better! Unfortunately, that means Amanda and Abigail have to come along on that journey. I volunteered, they were drafted. They have been excellent soldiers! Even better than most members. I’m very thankful for their help and their expertise!

Abigail came to us last fall and has hit the ground running. As Ellen retired, Abigail appeared and has been learning the design biz first hand. The school of hard knocks is always the best. Her marketing skills and her business savvy are put to the test daily. Abigail is happy to be on a jobsite, but at her best with clients!

Let’s not forget our wonderful LINDA! She has been our swag bag maven, not to mention our comic relief. Linda loves to make horribly hokey jokes and she never misses a good pun or an opportunity to scare the !#*+ out of us with a fake in your seat! We are saying goodbye so she can be with her family and grandchildren… can you imagine? She has promised to pop in when we are in a bind! We love our Linda!

This year has been a whirlwind. We finished two new builds, three renovations, and a number of one room projects! Photos are on the way! Amanda has held down the fort and is running all of our businesses. She is the boss, picking up the slack while no one else can multitask like her! She is our girl power! She can show you a P&L, pay the bills and unload a semi, all in a day. Not to mention book travel, order lunch, run six errands, handle any damages, and meet with the accountant. Just to name a few of her daily tasks. Sounds like a song!

We are beyond grateful to share that Robyn Branch Design received three First Place Awards at this year's Florida Design Magazine Seaglass Awards! Robyn celebrated the night away with Florida Design Magazine in Bonita Springs!

We also attended Design Edge, High Point market and participated in a panel discussion for Schoenbeck lighting, as well as the National Wood Flooring Association. Such fun!

The construction side with White Hat Development has had a good second year! We are so thankful for our clients!

I’ve been “on tour” with events and speaking engagements, panel discussions … my favorite, thinking of ways to help ASID Florida North ground and grow! I am about through my presidency and this has been a gift. It’s nerve racking, but a gift. The relationships are so good and I am very thankful for everyone who is so giving of their time.

The summer concludes with more events, tours, trips, and collaborations that promise to be as memorable as the fun times we’ve had so far!

Please follow ASID Florida North to see the very cool things we are working toward. #advocacy #sponsorship #collaboration #makeawishfoundation #studentpanels #chapterdesignawards #HPxD #miamidesigntrip

We hope to see you soon and make your world a bit more beautiful!
